Cashmere Care – How to Keep Your Cashmere Beautiful

Cashmere is exceptionally soft, warm and long-lasting. With the right care, cashmere scarves and accessories can retain their natural beauty and luxurious feel for many years. Always check the instructions on the care label before cleaning your item.

How to Wash Cashmere

Cashmere does not need to be washed after every wear. In many cases, simply allowing your scarf to air naturally is enough. When cleaning is necessary, we recommend gentle hand washing or, if permitted by the care label, using your washing machine’s delicate wool cycle.

Use cold or lukewarm water and a mild detergent designed for wool or cashmere. Avoid fabric softener, bleach and harsh detergents, as they can damage the delicate fibres.

Hand-Washing Cashmere

Place your cashmere scarf gently in the water and move it carefully without rubbing or scrubbing. Avoid soaking it for an extended period. Rinse thoroughly using water at a similar temperature.

Never wring or twist cashmere. Gently press out excess water, then roll the scarf in a clean towel to absorb the remaining moisture.

How to Dry Cashmere

Carefully reshape the damp scarf and lay it flat on a clean, dry towel. Do not hang wet cashmere, as the weight of the water may stretch the fibres and alter its shape.

Keep cashmere away from tumble dryers, radiators, direct sunlight and other sources of intense heat.

How to Remove Pilling

Small pills may naturally appear on fine fibres as a result of friction and are not necessarily a sign of poor quality. Remove them gently with a cashmere comb or a suitable fabric shaver. Place the item on a flat surface and work carefully without applying excessive pressure.

Pilling usually becomes less noticeable over time.

How to Store Cashmere

Store your cashmere scarf clean, dry and neatly folded. Hanging it for long periods may cause it to lose its shape. For seasonal storage, use a breathable fabric bag.

Natural moth repellents such as cedarwood or lavender can help protect cashmere. Avoid allowing oils or scented products to come into direct contact with the fabric.
